Already practicing your radio voice in the shower?

Give me a few hours and I’ll have you ready to finally launch your podcast!

Have you asked these questions?

“Do I need a theme song? Where can I find one?”

“How many episodes should I record before launching?”

“What does a successful marketing plan look like?”

“What are sponsors looking for when they partner with podcasts?”

“How can I feel more comfortable as a host if I don’t like my speaking voice?”

“How do I find guests to be on my podcast?”

You’re not alone.

In January 2018, I advised my friend as she launched her podcast about motherhood. I loved every bit of the process and knew I wanted to start a podcast of my own. I pretty quickly decided on the concept as I couldn’t find content about invisible illness online that I resonated with...and podcasts are my favorite medium for gaining new information.

I had a passion to share my message about invisible illness and so I began launching my podcast step by step. As questions and issues came up, I figured it out. I never went through a course, listened to a podcast on how to podcast or asked many people about how to get started. I began recording episodes and navigating the technical side of things.

I learned how to find the right theme song (by asking a musician friend to create one for me), land guest experts (by tapping into my network), the best way to share my podcast on all platforms (Instagram is way better than Facebook!), and how to find sponsors and media opportunities.

I talked to colleagues with successful podcasts and even hired a publicist for a few months.

In 2 1/2 years of hosting the podcast, I launched 100 episodes including celebrity guests and incredible influencers, experts and stories. I have landed amazing media opportunities and have worked with numerous paid sponsors.

It may sound too good to be true when you’re just starting out, but I can tell you from personal experience and leading others through the same process,

These results are possible - without breaking the bank or having a big online following.

How to speak your truth podcast
Harper’s Newbies Guide to Podcasting was a critical resource for me when I was starting my podcast. I read it through multiple times - first for an overall understanding, and then I came back to consult it over and over. When I’d think to myself “Hmm..
